E4D Travel-time Input Files

See File Syntax Rules for specific details.

Applicable Run Modes
Input File Mesh Forward Inverse Description
<fmm.inp>
✓
✓
✓
The run configuration must by named <fmm.inp>. It is the first file read by E4D, and contains the names of input files and other options necessary for E4D to execute a particular run mode.
Mesh configuration
✓
Provides E4D with instructions to build the mesh.  The filename must end with a <.cfg> extension. Details and rules describing E4D meshes can be found here.
Inversion options
✓
Inversion options for travel-time tomography. Structural metrics and weighting functions, integral to defining inversion options, can be viewed here.
Output options
✓
✓
Provides instructions on how to report observed vs. simulated data values, and whether to construct travel-time files for specified sensor injection configurations.
Survey
✓
✓
Provides the locations of sensors, describes how sensors are used to produce measurements, and lists measurement values and standard deviations.
Velocity
✓
✓
Specifies the velocity of each element in the computational mesh.
