E4D Electrical Methods Input Files

See File Syntax Rules for specific details.

Applicable Run Modes
Input File Mesh Forward Inverse Time-lapse Description
<e4d.inp>
✓
✓
✓
✓
The run configuration must by named <e4d.inp>. It is the first file read by E4D, and contains the names of input files and other options necessary for E4D to execute a particular run mode.
Conductivity
✓
Specifies the conductivity (either real or complex) of each element in the computational mesh.
Conductivity list
✓
Specifies multiple conductivity files for a forward run simulation.
Mesh configuration
✓
Provides E4D with instructions to build the mesh.  The filename must end with a <.cfg> extension. Details and rules describing E4D meshes can be found here.
Inversion options
✓
✓
Inversion options for ERT and SIP. Structural metrics and weighting functions, integral to defining inversion options, can be viewed here.
Output options
✓
✓
✓
Provides instructions on how to report observed vs. simulated data values, and whether to construct potential files for specified current injection configurations.
Survey
✓
✓
✓
Provides the locations of electrodes, describes how electrodes are used to produce measurements, and lists measurement values and standard deviations.
Time lapse survey list
✓
Specifires the list of survey files for time-lapse inversion.
